River Rafting
Our River Rafting experience is one of our 5 star events and is the best fun for the whole family! All you have to do is turn up at La Mariposa and we take care of the rest for you. It's an all day event that is as easy for you as it is on your pocket; ensuring great, organic & safe fun for you and your whole tribe.

As we need minimum numbers for this event, we have set dates. If they don't suit your itinerary, please get in touch, we might be able to add a date in for you! If you have a large enough party that wants to do it, we might be able to fix a date for you especially!
prices & Tour Info
We operate this event on the Segura river, the largest flowing body of water that comes through the region, it's also the river with the lowest average pollution in Spain.
This is a perfect activity to enjoy with your family and friends, it's a slow/medium moving river, with some adrenaline sections thrown in for your enjoyment.
We leave our office next to La Mariposa early (8:30!) in our mini-bus and head in the direction of Cieza, a town in the northern part of the region. Once there, we will suit up with life jackets & helmets and go through our safety talk and tuition. Valuables are best left in the minibuses as our drivers are always with them....Then, to the rafts! You'll start heading downriver, enjoying the speed and it's scenic riverbank, all the while rowing and getting splashed at.

As always we offer a normal price and a discounted cash price, A IVA (VAT) receipt is given at all times, please retain it as proof of payment on the day.

Full tuition is given by English speaking guides, they will fit you with all safety equipent and give you a full explanation.
Once all are loaded onto the rafts they will continue to give you tuition and information..
Your crafts will steadily pick up speed and you'll have races with the other rafts out on the river, all the while splashing and getting splashed, even going over a few small drops! After a while, you will take a small break in order to have a snack (make sure that you confirm any dietary requirements in advance) - usually a traditional bocadillo and a cold drink.
After this you'll resume, continuing downriver, you will have the opportunity to go in the water for a swim if you so wish, aided by your life jacket so you're in no danger. If you're lucky, you might see some otters or some river birds here. After a while, it's all aboard, back into the rafts getting ready for the weir.** The weir is a drop in water level which changes height depending on river flow and the season, but it's usually a couple of meters high. You'll get quite drenched here!
*Please note* On occasions, the water level around the weir is too high or too low, in these occasions, we are aided by guides to go over it.

After that, it's the end of the adventure as we're in Blanca, the final stop. Back aboard the mini-bus (Unfortunately, there are no changing facilities at the end point, so please don't forget your towel) heading back to the office. Once there you can grab some lunch (we can book this in advance for you if you wish. If all goes well your day with us should end around 1.30. (later if you decide to stop for lunch)
