Hotel la Mariposa offers comfortable affordable accommodation with prices starting
from 39 euros per room per night, superb mouth watering Spanish and English menu available in the hotels restaurant (we
offer many vegetarian options and are always pleased to offer vegan meals and pride ourselves in sourcing as much Gluten
free food as possible HOWEVER please let us know when booking rooms if you have any special dietary
requirements i.e. vegetarian, vegan or gluten free).. Wonderful restaurant terrace and gardens with swimming pool and free
WiFi. Set in a walkers / climbers and mountain bikers paradise, guides available for hire by the hour or by the day, maps
available to guests for self guiding, Mountain bikes for hire and we now have our own Gym, we try to be very helpful and flexable

Menu del dia
Our restaurant does the best Menu del dia in the area bar none and still only 9€ per person for a 4 course meal, The
meal consists of bread with home made ali oli, a mariposa salad, a choice from 4 starters, a choice from 4 main meals and
a choice of desserts, tea or coffee is also included, served only at lunchtimes every day except Wednesdays as we are closed
on Wednesdays.
Ideally situated on the edge of the Sierra Espuna Regional Park,
this small intimate hotel offers you the opportunity to stay in a tranquil and stunning area.
YAt the foot of the hills
of the nature reserve -one of the Spanish Regional nature reserve Parks-, in the village of Gebas, we found the remains of
an old farmstead.
La Casa del Estanco was originally also a sales outlet for tobacco and groceries; now the farm has been converted into a small
country hotel.
Hospederia La Mariposa is an ideal base for short or long holidays, especially for those people who love unspoilt nature,
hiking and other sport activities.
In an authentic Spanish atmosphere you may enjoy all modern facilities that will ensure your comfort and, of course an unprecedented,
beneficial peacefulness.
You can explore the Espuna with the help of the maps provided by the hotel, or relax by the private pool and sunbathing area.
Welcoming you to the Mariposa are Mark and Sam, along with their two children, Tom and Cady.
Situated around a central
courtyard, all the rooms are en-suite and have central heating, rooms are cleaned daily or at our guests request.
The
courtyard is the ideal place to enjoy that cool drink, or a delicious meal prepared by Sam in the fully equipped kitchens.
The restaurant is open from 6am for breakfast to residents, and an extensive lunchtime snack and TAPAS menu is now available.
A fully stocked bar nestles in the corner of the dining room together with comfortable sofas and free WiFi. Also here
is satellite t.v so you can catch up on the news, but really this is an area you will want to be out and exploring.
The
adventurous among you can use the maps and explore the park on foot, mountain bike ( we have bikes for hire) or even by car,
with many places to visit. See the "ice houses", "dinosaur footprint" and the now disused isolation hospital.
An experienced
guide is available for your walking trips to quieter areas of the park.
The protected area of "Barranco de Gebas" is nearby,
and is known as the "Badlands".
A warm welcome awaits everyone visiting the Mariposa, whether its popping in for a coffee,
the delicious menu of the day, or an extended relaxing stay.
The hotel is situated in Gebas, on the C3315, which is
the Main Alhama de Murcia to Mula road.

Directions.... Alhama de Murcia is a large town just off the E15
A7 motorway at the foothills of the Sierra Espuña, from the centre of the town follow the signs for Mula/Pliego, as you
enter the village of Gebas the hotel is the 1st building that you come to on the right hand side.
GPS co-ordinates are 37 degrees 53´36. 08N, 1 degree 27´17.42W elevation 405M.
Bike hire
We do have mountain bikes for hire with or without suspension from 8 euros per day, these bikes are perfect for road and wide
tracks, if you want to experience the single tracks on the Espuna we assume that you are an experienced rider and will bring
your own bikes, we have bike washing facilities and secure storage and workshop facilities at the hotel.
